Zoo Lab

Today we had our Zoo Lab experience. Wow, we had some brave children, who were all mesmerised by all the animals we got to see, touch, hold and learn many interestings facts about. The children were first greeted by a huge African land snail (Shelby) although quite slimy many children held him carefully or offered to stroke his shell. They then met a leopard Geko, who was carefully stroked as we admired his beautiful patterned skin. There was a cockroach from Madagascar, who had tickly legs. A hairy Tarantula who was kept in his container. A slithering long corn snake, that coiled around the lady's arm!  Last the children said, "Hello," to a cute fluffy rat called, Milo. We all had a fantastic time learning about the animals, I'm sure the children have shared todays wonderful experience and will continue their facination of the animals.

WORKING OUT... WE GAVE IT A LITTLE GO. wink

We may be little, but with a close eye and some help from our teachers we had a little go on the grown up gym equipment. Look at us!

Spring is in the air!

The classroom has been a hive of different activities over the past few weeks. The children have grown their own grass gardens, been on a bug hunt, we have watched beanstalks take life. Created many different insects you find at this time of year. Looked at patterns and talked about length & size in maths. The children used a variety of materials in creating a beautiful display. Can you spot who's blooming? The topic continues. I'm sure the children are sharing their learning and knowledge of all things linked to Spring.

Look at our amazing dinosaurs!

The children worked hard to independently create their designer dinosaurs, complete with fancy boots.

World Book Day 2024

Thank you to everyone who made the effort to dress up as a book character. Our class teacher Miss Robinson was dressed to impress as the beautiful butterfly from, The Hungry Caterpillar. Both Miss Paynter & Mrs Gee were characters from the Where's Wally books. We had super heroes, beautiful princesses and our winning costume was Kiera, who dressed as, Minnie Mouse and brought in her favourite book -The mouse with no name. Well done to Kiera.

heart Pamper morning for the Mums heart

Today Friday 8th March we invited our Mums in to have a special pamper morning. Everyone had a lovely time taking part in the different activities. We had nail designing & painting, crown making, special smelling & sparkling potions. Hair dressing, selfies and handprint keepsakes to treasure forever! Happy Mother's day to you all x

Science Day 2024

Wow! What a busy morning we all had today. Lots of investigations and experiments took part throughout the morning. As you can see the children were mesmerised with lots of hands on learning. We tried making erruptive potions, just like that of a volcano. Some of us went home with blue hands as we created rainclouds that dropped blue drops. We made our own lava lamp solution and loved watching it move up and down. There were butterflies that magically moved with the power of  magnets. The children watched and discussed what items would float or sink. Then we made shadows with our classroom dinosaurs! We hope your children came home full of tales from the classroom activities today.

Taste Test - Tomatoes

This term our class book was called, "Monster Clothes" by Daisy Hirst. Today we linked our learning by taste testing a piece of tomato. Most of the children attempted to try a piece. Some had their own opinions and others tried even though they knew they didn't like it.

Easter Activities

The children were thinking about Easter throughout the last week of term. They have watched a video to understand why we celebrate Easter. There has been a range of exciting activities including, chocolate playdough, egg patterns, card making, chocolate cake creating, an egg hunt to find chocloate left by the Easter bunny himself! We wish you all a very Happy Easter, enjoy the holiday!
