Autumn 2
Painting and mixed media: Portraits
Whist we are working through this unit we will develop skills in creating interesting portrait drawings using words, experiment with materials and techniques, and construct self-portraits that represent aspects of ourselves.

Spring 1
Sculpture: Interactive Installations
In this art unit we will be learning about installation art, including identifying and comparing art installations, exploring space and scale in 3D art, problem-solving in construction, planning installations to communicate ideas, and applying knowledge to develop and present installation art pieces effectively.
These are some of our installations.
Spring 2
This unit focuses on architecture, guiding pupils through observational drawing, print making and building design. It encourages the children to explore architectural elements and analyse Hundertwasser's work to enhance their understanding.
Summer 2
We will be exploring the purpose and impact of images from the ‘Space race’ era of the 1950s and 60s; developing independence and decision-making using open-ended and experimental processes; combining drawing and collagraph printmaking to create a futuristic image.
