Our new Phonics Scheme.

Meeting

We follow Little Wandle Letters and Sounds. have a new phonics scheme.

At the beginning of the Autumn term, you will receive a letter inviting you to a meeting to introduce you to the scheme and learn about how we teach phonics.

Books

After a couple of weeks, the children will start to bring home a book, most without words. At the back of the book it gives ideas on what to talk to your child about. Once your child has been assessed, the book will be matched to your child's current reading level and may then contain simple words. They will have read this book at school 3 times and should be able to read and it fluently. Hear them read and celebrate how well they can read the book.

The books will be given out on a Friday. They are part of a set that may be needed by another group the following week. Therefore it is important that they are returned on the following Monday.
