Reading
Your child will be given a story book to share with an adult at home.
Fantastic reading within the classroom will earn your child a reading token. At the moment we are encouraging the children to find the different sounds that we have learnt. Each half term a ticket will be drawn out and that child will receive a prize.
We are learning the letter sounds. I will put on Seesaw the letters that we are learning each week. Have a look at this website to help you. We learn the sounds NOT the letter names.

Once your child can recognise the sounds and blend them together to forms words, they are ready to read. On the same website, there are books for them to try.

Homework
Homework will be set every Friday on Seesaw which is an online learning platform. You will be sent a code to set up an account. The work will be differentiated to the needs of the children and vary between the different areas of learning. We will set work that either helps them to practice concepts that have been taught or to build on the learning that has taken place in the class that week.
