Reading books
In FS1 we provide your child with a book bag that they will keep as they progress through school. In this book bag will be:
Your child's home school diary (so that you can record when you share a book at home).
A school reading book which has been selected for your child will have no words to begin with. This is to encourage talk about the pictures between you and your child and is an opportunity for you and your child to make up the story together. This is important for developing literacy skills. Once your child is ready, they will be given a book containing words.
A library book which your child has chosen to take home and share with you.
Class drinks policy
Foundation stage 1 children receive milk everyday, along with fruit and a bagel during the morning. There is also water available at all times.
The children can bring in their own water bottle if you wish but no glass or fizzy drinks please.
