Reading books
In FS1 we provide your child with a book bag that they will keep as they progress through school. In this book bag will be:
Your child's home school diary (so that you can record when you share a book at home).
A school reading book which has been selected for your child and has no words. This is to encourage talk about the pictures between you and your child and is an opportunity for you and your child to make up the story together. This is important for developing literacy skills. Once your child is ready, they will be given a book containing words.
A library book which your child has chosen to take home and share with you.
Big Cat Collins
Your child has been assigned a book on Big Cat Collins. Once they have read their book, they will be assigned a new one.
Please try and read with your child every day as this will help them to become confident readers and writers.
Seesaw
We use an online learning platform called Seesaw for our homework. We will send you a code so that you can activate an account.
Class drinks policy
Foundation stage children receive milk everyday until the term following their 5th birthday. There is also water available at all times. Children do not need to bring drinks in to the classroom. A drink should be provided in their packed lunch (not glass bottles or cans and no fizzy drinks please).
