Y5

This year the Y5 staff are Mr Perry, Miss Bates, Mrs Lathwood-Birch, Mrs Fox and Mrs Atkins. We look forward to meeting you all.

This year, our P.E. lesson will be on a Monday with L.C.F.C. Please ensure that your child wears their P.E. kit to school on a Monday morning.

Weekly homework will be set on Seesaw every Friday and needs to be completed by the following Friday. If your child is struggling to access Seesaw, your child may be given a paper copy of their homework to complete. If your child is struggling to complete their homework, they should speak to a Year 5 teacher early on in the week.

Along with weekly homework, we would like to remind parents that children should also be reading for at least 10 minutes a day. Children also have logins to access Times Tables Rock Stars, and Mathletics.

We hope you and your families have a lovely Christmas.

What a busy, but fantastic day we had today! Year 5 worked extremely hard to plant around 250 trees on our school field and litter pick 12 bags of rubbish weighing in at a whopping 29kg!

Year 5 spent today making their Christmas cards and calendars.

We had a great day dressing in our house colours and thinking about Children In Need. We completed a shared reading task to learn about the history and purpose of Children In Need and then worked on some fun coloring, maths and codebreaker tasks.

As part of our 'Life Skills' lessons, we made poppy wreaths to remember those who have given their lives. On the 11th hour, of the 11th day, of the 11th month, we held a two minute silence to remember them.
