Buswells Got Talent 2022: For the first time since the pandemic, we were able to hold our end of year talent show. Well done to all those who entered and particularly to the finalists who performed in front of Years 2 and 5. In third place was the extremely funny Olivia from FS2 with her fantastic jokes. Second place also went to FS2 with their wonderful dance group who performed to Waka Waka by Shakira. This year's winners were the brilliant Y6 gymnastics group of Hayley, Summer and Ahmed.

Red Nose Day 2022

This year we kept it simple and asked our staff and children to wear as much red as possible to support Comic Relief. We also held a 'Best Joke Competition' with a winner in each class and then overall winners in Foundation Stage and Key Stage 1, Lower Key Stage 2 and Upper Key Stage 2. Thank you for all your donations which helped us raise a fantastic £600 to support this worthy charity.

The overall winners were:

Kian in Year 2:

Joke: What did the red light say to the green light?

Punchline: Don't look, I'm changing!

Yahyah in Year 4:

Joke: What do you call a dog with a magic hat?

Punchline: A labrakadabradoodle!

Naflah in Year 5:

Joke: What do you call a fake noodle?

Punchline: An impasta!

Children In Need 2021: We were back with a bang! Non-uniform, children wearing traditional dress, children dressing like their parents, a sponsored run, name the teddy, guess the sweets in the jar and lots and lots of Pudsey merchandise for sale. This year our School Council decided to raise money for Children in Need and our own fund-raising efforts at the same time. In total, we raised £582.85 for Children in Need and more than £1000 towards purchasing new Key Stage 2 playground equipment. Thank you to all the parents, carers and family members who sponsored or supported the children. Extra special thanks go to Busra in Year 5 and Ayuub in Year 6 who planned and organised the 'Guess the name of the teddy' and 'Guess the number of sweets in the jar' games themselves. A massive well done also to Lewis and Kimoura in Year 6 who planned and organised the sponsored run.

Red Nose Day 2021: We were once again impacted by the Coronavirus pandemic, but ploughed on regardless. In total, we managed to raise £133.11 as we dressed up and remembered the heroes of the pandemic. Thank you to all children and parents who supported us in raising this amount. A huge congratulations to our funniest joke winner, Ahmed in Year 3, whose joke was - “Why did the teddy bear say no to dessert?” "…because she was stuffed!"

As things are a little difficult this year due to Covid-19, we decided to have a more low-key Children In Need day. Children were invited to wear their house colours to school after making a small donation. In total, we raised £110.50. Thank you for your donations in these tricky times!

This year, we will be fundraising for Children in Need by wearing our house colours on Friday 13th November. Try and wear as much of your house colour as possible! Feel free to wear face paint and accessorise!

Below is the link to our online donation page. We will only be acceptaing donations via ParentPay. The suggested donation is 50p.

Thank you in advacne for your donations.

Mr Perry and the School Council

Sport Relief 2020: This year Buswells Lodge were put through their paces as each class completed a sponsored circuit of activities in their P.E. lesson ranging from press-ups and shuttle runs to hang tough and star jumps. On the Friday, everyone dressed in their best sports gear, and had the opportunity to take penalties at school councilors and their class teachers. Fun was had by everyone, and in total, we raised £395. A special mention goes out to Lewis in Year 5 who raised £40 alone in sponsorship. Well done Buswells!

Recently, our Year 5 classes were lucky enough to be visited by Steve from the Guide Dogs, Ruth Mays MBE and her working guide dog Ally. Our school council took great pleasure in giving Guide Dogs a donation of £100 as part of the visit.

Children In Need 2019

This year Buswells Lodge went massively multicoloured for Child In Need as the School Council challenged all children to wear the seven colours of the rainbow to school. The children pulled out all the stops, and it was lovely to see so many homemade T-shirts. In total, we raised £319.09. Thank you for all your support.

This morning, the School Council worked extremely hard to make roughly 400 Cornflake and Rice Krispie cakes. These will be sold to raise money for Children In Need.

Red Nose Day 2019

This year we supported Red Nose Day by holding a funniest joke competition. Every child in the school was given the opportunity to enter, and winners were chosen from each class. Our two overall school winners were in Navya in Year 1 (Key Stage 1) and Hassan in Year 4 (Key Stage 2). You can hear their jokes below.

Thank you to those of you who donated and helped us raise our total of £369.80.

Children in Need 2018

This year Buswells went Dance-tastic for Children in Need. We boogied, bopped and jived our way to a whopping £1200 donation. Thank you to each and every person who donated money. Special mentions go to the following children who raised extra-ordinary amounts via sponsorship: Taher (FS2), Jenson (Year 2), Ethan L (Year 3), Jacob (Year 3), Lewis (Year 4), Zahra (Year 4) and Lacey (Year 6).
