What is SMSC?
SMSC stands for spiritual, moral, social and cultural development.
SMSC is essential for children and young people's individual development, as well as the development of society as a whole.
All National Curriculum subjects provide opportunities to promote pupils’ spiritual, moral, social and cultural development. There are also explicit opportunities to address pupils’ development in these areas are provided throughout our curriculum. A significant contribution is also made by the school ethos, effective relationships throughout the school, collective worship, and other curriculum activities.
We promote British values in a variety of ways throughout the curriculum, in addition to whole school activities where the importance of respect, acceptance and understanding and diversity are just some of the morals taught in our school.
