At Buswells Lodge Primary School we work hard to create a caring ethos which is reflected in our Religious Education teaching. Through an exploration of teachings, beliefs and practices of the major faiths we encourage children to grow in their understanding of religion. By informing children about the six major world religions, along with humanism, we seek to bring understanding, foster tolerance and empathy and develop a feeling of respect and acceptance of other people's beliefs.
Personal, Social and Health Education (PSHE) enables children to become healthy, independent and responsible members of society. We encourage our pupils to play a positive role in contributing to the life of the school and the wider community. In so doing we help develop their sense of self-worth. We teach them how our society is governed and about rights and responsibilities. They learn to appreciate what it means to be a positive member of a diverse multicultural society.
