The Prime Minister appeared on television yesterday evening to announce his 'roadmap' towards easing the current lockdown. The potential re-opening of primary schools for certain year groups was a part of this plan.
At school, we heard this announcement at the same time as you and are currently waiting for further guidance from both the Government and Leicester City Council before we begin to finalise our plans.
Please bear in mind that the re-opening of schools is only a possibility at the moment. The decision will need to be based on the Prime Minister's five-point plan and will need careful preparation in order to ensure that everyone - children, staff and parents - are protected.
In the short term, nothing has changed, our school is still open only to children of key workers and families should continue to stay at home. Children should continue to access school work through Seesaw, our online learning platform, so that they can stay in touch with their teacher.
Please be assured that we are working hard on this and will communicate with parents by text, here on our website and by email as soon as we can in order to ensure that all families receive the information they need.
Keep well, keep safe and look after yourselves.
