Our school was visited by inspectors from OFSTED on the 18th and 19th September and their report is now available. It will be live on the OFSTED website on the 10th October.
Whilst the overall outcome is disappointing, the inspection team identified a large number of strengths in our school and there are a great number of positive comments throughout the report about many aspects of school life, particularly related to pupils' personal development and behaviour which was judged as 'good'.
The inspection team also felt that there was a lot of strong teaching and good practice in school which we should be sharing with each other and other schools.
As the new Headteacher, I have been impressed by the dedication and professionalism of the staff and their commitment to working hard on developments and improvements for the future.
I, myself, have extensive experience of leding schools in similar circumstances and feel that working together with school leadership, staff, pupils, governors and the school community, we can take our school to new success.
I urge you to read the report fully and if you wish to discuss any elements of the inspectors' comments, please do not hesitate to contact me.
Mr. S. Fewster
