Buswells Lodge Primary School uses a skills and knowledge based curriculum called Cornerstones which we have adapted to meet the individual needs of our school community. We regularly review our curriculum to ensure that it meets all of the requirements of the National Curriculum and that learning develops across the school.
Our curriculum consists or a series of half-termly modules or topics. Each module is made up of various subjects, e.g. History, Geography, Design & Technology, Music, Art etc. to create a cross-curricular approach. Our curriculum is designed to be engaging, exciting and creative in order to make our pupils enthusiastic about learning.
As well as this, we promote 'Learning Powers' and a 'Growth Mindset' across school in order to encourage children to be resilient and determined in their learning. We believe that making mistakes is the best way to learn, as long as you don't give up!
