On Wednesday and Thursday this week, we planted 5 different vegetables- potatoes, swede, parsnips, beetroot and onions- into a raised bed. We followed our designs by planting in rows and keeping each vegetable separate.

Today we learnt about the term 'biodegradable'. A biodegradable object is one which breaks down over a short period of time due to sunlight, pressure, bacteria and other factors. We buried several items in the ground and discussed whether they were biodegradable or non-biodegradable.

We spent the afternoon digging over the beds behind Year 6 so that we could plant crops over the coming weeks.

As part of our English work, we are writing instructions. So, we decided to grow broad beans, and write instructions on how to do this.
