Today we would like you to think about what is 1 more than a given number. This means thinking in your head which number comes next when you are counting on. For example, what is 1 more than 2? Well that would be 3, as 3 comes after 2. I didn't  write anything down or use any objects, I just thought of the answer in my head. So initially have someone ask you 1 more than a given number using numbers up to 10- make sure the numbers are in a random order.

E.g.

What is 1 more than 8?

What is 1 more than 2?

What is 1 more than 7?

What is 1 more than 1?

Etc.

Remember our top tip about counting on, start from the given number and count on.

How did you do? Were you able to work out 1 more each time?

Now why don't you try 1 more than a given number from 11- 20!

E.g.

What is 1 more than 19?

What is 1 more than 13?

What is 1 more than 11?

What is 1 more than 16?

Etc.

How was that? Was it harder? Or were you super confident? smiley

One More!

Watch of this video and have a go at shouting out 1 more each time, don't forget the actions too!
