Today we want your child to think about how a story could end.
Explain to them that you are going to listen to a story together and have a go at saying what could happen at the end. It is important that you explain to them that it doesn't matter if they are right or not as we can't always guess what the author was thinking. It might actually be that we decide that our ideas would have made a better ending.
We would like you to watch 'I want to go first' but stop it at 5 minutes and talk about what is going to happen next.
If your child can't think of anything, ask them how the elephants are going to get the big elephant out of the water. If they still don't have an answer then suggest something that is really silly like 'the wind will blow them away'. See if your child agrees with that or if they can think of a better idea.
During the story, encourage them to join in with the noises.
