Position: Chair of Governors

My name is Lynn Wyeth. I used to be a primary school teacher but am now a senior manager at Leicester City Council where I am in charge of Data Protection and Freedom of Information.

I’ve stayed involved with local schools and have been a school governor for many years. Buswells Lodge is one of the closest schools to where my mother lives and I know the area well, and only live 10 minutes’ drive away myself.

I am also a Clerk to the Governors at another city school which allows me to observe and share good practice when I see it.

I am the lead governor for Safeguarding, Pupil Premium and the Curriculum.

I’m very interested in helping disadvantaged children due to my own background. I want to inspire our children to aim high, aspire to exciting futures and reach their full potential!

Fatima Gordon

Position: Vice Chair

My name is Fatima Gordon. As a long standing governor (23 years) it is my commitment to see that children who attend Buswells Lodge grow to achieve their full potential in a happy and safe environment.

I live in the local community and currently have a small cleaning business. I have previously worked within the old Sure Start centre as a deputy leader and have also worked in school as a special needs support assistant, a first aider and midday supervisor within the foundation years; which I enjoyed very much. This experience has helped me to get to know the staff, the children and the day to day running of the school. Three of my own children attended Buswells Lodge and all have grown up to be very successful in their own careers.

Joanne Evans

Position: Parent Governor

Hi my name is Jo, I work in customer services and became interested in becoming a parent governor when my child started attending Buswells Lodge Primary School.  I am keen to be involved and give my time where needed to support our local school.

Paul Webb

Position: Parent Governor

My Name is Paul Webb.

I am one of the newest members of the Governing team. 
Professionally, I work full time as a Retail Branch Manager, based in Leicester.
I feel, as every other parent does, that my children deserve the best possible education. Buswells Lodge has seen a huge amount of improvement over the past few Months. As a parent governor, I hope to be part of a team that can continue to move the school forward for the benefit of all the children, present and future.

Gillian Bates

Co-opted Governor

I have been a teacher at Buswells Lodge for over 20 years beginning in KS1 before moving to KS2, where I currently enjoy teaching Y5. Over the years I have been involved with ICT, English, coaching and Teaching and Learning as part of the ‘Change Team’. I am keen to share good practise and learn from others as education never stands still and we are all constantly learning and seeking ways to improve the provision for the children in our care. I joined the Governing Body at the beginning of the 2019/2020 academic year and I am currently the English Link Governor.
